Dr. Reagan Cheshire
Reagan joined WVC in June 2011. She has an interest in both small and large animal medicine with special interest in small animal ultrasound and sheep/goat medicine.
Dr. Jake Murphy
Jake has been practicing since 2013. His main interests lie in large animal medicine and bovine reproduction, but if you ask the staff he is the resident cat doctor.
Dr. Tannis Jackson
Tannis has been practicing since 2000. Her experience is in small animal with special interest in soft tissue surgery as well as orthopedics.
Dr. Sven Pohl
Sven has been practicing since 2013 with an interest in equine medicine and reproduction.
Dr. Collin Lawrence
Collin has been practicing since 2005. His experience is with large and small animal with special interest in beef and dairy.
Dr. Patty Tulloch
Patty has been practicing since 2013. She grew up just outside of Ponoka on a beef farm. She has a yellow lab x retriever named Lucy and a cat named Marty. Her interests are in beef, dairy and small animal medicine.
Dr. Robert Lawrence
Robert has been practicing since 2008. His experience is in both large and small animals with an interest in cattle and swine. Robert enjoys spending time with his wife Jolene and his three children.
Dr. Cali Lewis
Cali has been practicing since 2015, but may be a familiar face to many, having grown up in the area. Often found in the footsteps of her veterinary parents, Dr. Roy Lewis and Dr. Carol Shwetz, Cali is no stranger to veterinary medicine and the Westlock Veterinary Center family. Cali has two horses of her own, a blue heeler dog named Steady, and a cat named Mesa. She practices both in small and large animal veterinary medicine, but has special interest in equine care. In her free time, Cali can be found riding her horses, hiking or paddle boarding with her dog, and partaking in all things outdoors.
Dr. Jolene Lawrence
Jolene graduated from WCVM in 2008 and joined the WVC team part-time in 2012. Jolene’s 3 children keep her busy on the days she is not here at the clinic! Since having children, Jolene has focused her interest in small animal medicine, even though she is very much looking forward to having a small herd of cattle at home. In addition to her cows, she also has a Labrador retriever, Skye, and 3 cats.
Dr. Marcella St. Louis
Marcella is a 2018 graduate of University of Calgary. She grew up in Spruce Grove and has family roots in the Westlock area.
Marcella currently has a wide range of interests including ultrasonography, small ruminant medicine, wildlife medicine, beef herd health and small animal medicine. She has two rescue dogs, Popcorn and Grady, and loves to spend time outdoors camping, hiking, cross country skiing, snowboarding, and running.
Dr. Meghan McCarty
Meghan has been practicing since 2013. She joins us after gaining experience in rural mixed animal practice in Valleyview, Alberta and urban small animal practice in St. Albert. Meghan has professional interests in internal medicine and dermatology. She has two rescues – a handsome tabby cat named Finnigan and a ever-ready-for-an-adventure dog named Lexi. Outside of work Meghan loves to travel as well as enjoy the great outdoors; you can often find her hiking, canoeing, or camping in the back country.
Animal Health Technologists
Akke was raised on the dairy farm near Barrhead and later moved with her family to start a dairy in Ohio. She has a crazy cat named “Nala” since ’95, two Quarter Horses named Money & Blitz, a Friesian named Wibrichje, and a Rottweiler named Ryley. She graduated from Lakeland College in May 2011 and has happily joined the WVC staff.
Graduated from NAIT in 2014, Dasha currently lives in Westlock with Gus, the cat. She grew up in Strathmore and gradually moved north. She enjoys hiking, reading, baking, and other shenanigans. Dasha did her practicum at Westlock and joined the WVC team in 2014 after graduation.
Alana grew up in Edmonton but now lives in the Thorhild area with her horses, dog, cats and various pocket pets. She graduated from NAIT in 2013 with Andrea. She joined the WVC team in April 2016. In her spare time, you will find her caring for her motley crew, riding, baking and drawing.
Harley is from Fawcett where she raises and trains registered Quarter Horses. You can find her out in the arena barrel racing and team roping. She also has a Chihauhau named “Yager”. She is a Lakeland graduate of 2012 and joined WVC in November of 2012. Her interests are in Equine Rehab and alternative therapies.
Krysta grew up on a mixed animal farm in Smokey Lake area. She enjoys being on the farm and working with the animals. She graduated from Lakeland College in 2010.
Andrea lives in Spruce Grove with her husband, two daughters, dog named Dexter and two cats. She grew up on a cattle ranch in B.C. She loves the outdoors, camping, hiking, and running. She is a 2013 graduate of NAIT. Andrea joined our staff in June 2013.
Jenessa did her practicum with us and we hired her on shortly after in June of 2017. She has just graduated from the RVT program and we are happy to have her here with us full time now.
Jenessa grew up outside of Barrhead and now lives right in Westlock. In her spare time she enjoys her horses, reading & camping.
Rebecca grew up in Flatbush, Alberta and graduated from Lakeland College in 2017. She enjoys the great outdoors, baking, painting and knitting. She also has a dog named, Honey.
Cassandra graduated from Lakeland college in May 2018. She grew up on a beef farm near Jarvie. She enjoys helping out on her family farm and spending time outside hiking, kayaking and canoeing with her sisters 2 pups.
Jessie lives in Legal with her dog, Benny, and his partner in crime, Missy (the cat, who strongly believes she’s a dog). She graduated from Lakeland College in May 2015 and joined the WVC staff in July 2015.
Haleigh grew up in Westlock and has two dogs Ruger and Colt. She graduated from the Veterinary Medical Assistant program at NAIT in 2018. Haleigh did her practicum at WVC and joined our staff in April 2018. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family. You will see her up front at reception as well as helping out the staff in the back!
Jalina is a Clinic Assistant that started back in August 2016. She is a local girl, as she grew up in Clyde, and still lives there today. When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her hanging out with her 4 dogs and her 13 year old cat. She also enjoys working on trucks (you’ll be able to tell which truck is hers in our parking lot!)
Terry Anne is married and has two daughters and one granddaughter. At this time they have six horses, two dogs, and several cats. She has always wanted to work with animals and is glad WVC gave her that opportunity. Terry Anne joined WVC staff in April, 2012.
Ericka lives near Barrhead. She joined WVC staff in March 2015 and is a certified Vet Medical Assistant. She has three dogs, Penelope, Cliff and Oscar. Two horses, Tex and Patty. Erika enjoys horseback riding, the mountains, and doing many other outdoor activities with friends, family, and her animals.
Jenny started at WVC in March 2011. She is married with two children. She enjoys spending time on the farm with the cattle, horses, and her many other pets!
Carolyn is married with 3 girls and many, many pets! She grew up on a mixed farm in the Manola area. She is certified in Equine Management. She has been a horse breeder/trainer for 15 years and has worked with a professional dog trainer for 7 years. Carolyn enjoys horseback riding, dog training & agility, quading, sledding, and being with her family.
Vanessa has been with Westlock Veterinary Center since March, 2010. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters on their sheep and cattle farm.
Amy joined the WVC team in 2016 as the Media and Marketing Manager. Her and her husband Cody, along with their 3 children, manage Excel Ranches a purebred cattle operation just outside of Westlock. At the moment she isn’t sure what she likes to do in her spare time, as she’s not sure she has any.
Ruth has been on the WVC team as the Office Manager since 1991! Ruth and her husband Roy live in Fawcett and enjoy spending time with their 7 grandchildren as well as traveling. Ruth would eventually like to retire, but we won’t let her 😉
Janet lives on a farm west of Westlock where she loves to work the cattle and ride their horses. She has a year old yellow lab named “Sadie” and enjoys winter outdoor sports. Janet joined the WVC staff in July 2012.
Classy K9 Clipping
Bridget has been running Classy K9 Clippings out of Westlock Veterinary Center since February 2003. She has 24 years of experience grooming all breeds. Bridget will do some show cuts and will take on all sizes of dogs. Bridget also breeds and shows her own Shi-Tzus.
Lorna has been helping Bridget for years. She does the bathing, drying and general spa duties.
